post IBC

It's been quite a while since the IBC 2015 is over. I started to post about it, on my blog in Turkish. Actually, it is still much easier for me to write in my native. But, as a PRESS member, I know that I should also post in English. I will start with a general covarage, after that I will write on some specific technology/application, and finally I will comment on the companies & their solutions in IBC 2015.

First of all I should thank to all, working for the IBC. It was the first time I attended to the IBC, but it worth every cent that I spent on my own. Amsterdam is a lovely city. The hotels are quite expensive during IBC, but you may stay in Leiden, Delft, Den Haag or even Rotterdam. They are not far away by train. You should also take in to account the transportation cost. IBC gives you a free card which is valid in all bus, tram & metro in Amsterdam. If you choose to stay in another city, you have to use train, which is not that cheap. I stayed at Leiden, for 60 € / night. The cost of transportation was 20 € / day. That adds up to 80 € / day, which is still quite cheap compared to 200 € / day in Amsterdam.

Amsterdam RAI, was easy to reach from city center with tram 4. Actually, you can use tram 12, which comes close to RAI and which is not that crowded. Especially in morning & evening the Tram 4 was too crowded. People of Amsterdam were used to IBC event. This was the third time I visited Amsterdam, and had the same feeling: Relaxed. Life is much slower in Amsterdam, although it was crowded with IBC guys all around, it was still quite & friendly.

IBC was formed of 14 Halls. The Hall number 12 is actually the Sony Hall. They had, some how, a special part of the RAI. Their booth had a conference hall in it. They had many free briefings about not only their solutions but also broadcast technology. A friend of mine from high school & university is working for Sony, so Sony booth was one of the booths that I visited frequently. RAI, is a big venue. Walking inside the Halls was quite tricky. I have to admit that I could not learn the places of the Halls during the five days of my visit. Each time I had to ask some staff to find my way. Press Room was quite comfortable with coffee, tee & orange juice. The staff working at the Press Room & also the security staff to whom I was faced each & every early morning, were very helpful. As I was staying at Leiden, not to be late, I came to RAI at 8 in the morning. The fair was opening at 9.30, so I had the chance to see the booths empty.

Although I had the chance to attend the conference, I could only listen to one of the breakfast panel. As this was the first time of me in IBC, I thought that I should do my best to be able to accepted as PRESS also next year. So I visited and collect information from the booths, with which I will write about IBC.

I shared an update on my Facebook account, a fast covarage of the "things" that were interesting about IBC 2015:

First of all can you tell us a bit about Zero Density . Founded in 2014 by 4 individuals with extensive working experience in broadcasting and media started working on the Reality Engine TM    product with the aim to break the mold and change the game in the post-production industry.
